The Hongwen Education Research and Development Center (HERDC) has announced a research project sharing programme for Center members, collaborating researchers and relevant experts. The programme will support continued discussion of project progress, evidence and methods, interim outputs, and pathways for subsequent translation.
The programme is not designed as a one-off presentation at the end of a project. Through staged review, peer discussion and task clarification, it aims to help research teams identify evidence gaps, refine methods and define outputs that may be suitable for responsible public communication.
Why Interim Sharing Matters
Research projects often extend over a substantial period. Questions, sources and analytical approaches may need to change as the work develops. Without interim exchange, problems may only become visible immediately before completion, reducing the quality and usefulness of the final output.
HERDC therefore treats sharing as part of project management and academic support. At each stage, researchers should be able to explain what has been completed, what evidence supports the work, and what limitations remain.
Main Areas of Exchange
- Project progress: research objectives, current tasks, completed work and the next-stage plan.
- Evidence and methods: sources, permitted uses and analytical treatment of literature, interviews, cases and other materials.
- Interim outputs: preliminary findings, case outlines, research summaries and other material ready for discussion.
- Output translation: assessing material that may be developed into reports, forum presentations, member exchanges or public updates.
Principles for Public Communication
Public outputs should distinguish verified facts, cited views and research judgement. They should identify data definitions and scope, and should not rely on unverifiable cases or overstated conclusions. Personal, institutional or non-public project information must be authorised and appropriately redacted before use.
Next Steps
Participation arrangements and supporting materials will be published through the Society's Event Programmes section and Secretariat notices. Researchers may prepare a project summary, source list and clearly defined questions in advance.
